I washed the berries (I had only strawberries and gooseberries) and patted them dry. Then I de-stalked the strawberries and cut them in quarters, while I cut the goobies in half. I sprinkled castor sugar over them and left them standing for an hour or so. Then, just before serving, I grated 70% chocolate into them, added a few green pepper corns, and sprinkled them with roasted almond flakes for mouth-feel. I served it with fresh double thick cream, and a sprig of mint, and we had a wonderful end to our meal. Try it! It's quick, easy, and delicious. The green peppercorns added a different dimension.
