“Roosterkoek” (bread rolls done over the coals)
Ingredients
2t dry yeast
2t honey
+/- 3 cups of lukewarm water
1kg flour
1t salt
1T butter
Method
1. Place dough on a surface that is lightly sprinkled with flour.
2. Form balls of about the size of a golf ball, or slightly bigger.
3. Flatten slightly.
4. Allow the dough to rise a bit.
5. Place the rolls on the grid. Turn regularly until browned on both sides. Be careful that the coals are not too hot as this will cause the rolls to burn on the outside and still be raw inside.
Serve with butter and various jams.
